Couples Counselling and
Relationship Enrichment

Get the most out of your relationships

Holding Hands

"To be human is to need others, and this is no flaw or weakness."

- Sue Johnson

Relationships occur in all facets of life and come in all shapes and sizes. The memories and shared interactions with others are often our most cherished experiences. They also bring with them heartache, stress, and sadness. No relationship stays still, they are always changing, developing, and evolving. Managing relationships and knowing how to behave and feel in them can be difficult.

In couples counselling and relationship enrichment, Jonathan works with you to discuss what your relationship means to you. Together you may explore a variety of topics to help build a better relationship. Together you can discuss any issues in the relationship, the goals you want for your relationship to improve, how to deal with stress and conflict together, and what skills can be developed individual and as a couple.

Jonathan's focus for couples counselling is to offer practical counselling that helps couples find solutions to their difficulties and meaningful insight into each other, the relationship, and yourselves.

Techniques and therapies:

- Gottman Couples Therapy

- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

- Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

Couples Counselling and Relationship Enrichment: About Me

What to expect for your first couples session...

Relationships take work and effort, and unfortunately they don't come with an instruction booklet. Let's work together and figure out what works best for you and your relationship.

Here is what you can expect in our first couples session:
- review and resolve any questions or concerns about intake forms,  agreements, and payment options
- briefly talk about counselling and how couples counselling works
- discuss main issues and goals for couples therapy (What brought you to counselling? What do you want to work on?)
- discuss any questions about counselling (fears, concerns, etc.)
- collect background information about issues, personality, family, relationships, etc.
- discuss avenues to explore to work towards solutions or goals
- discuss assessments and questionnaires to gather information for future sessions
